2023 Abu Garcia Lunker of the Year Sponsored by MTB Brokerage – Update<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned in a previous article Abu Garcia is back for another year in support of the NBSFA 2023 Lunker of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2021 the Prize Package was won by the team of Howard Martell and Steve Watson with a 4.80-pound smallmouth caught on the last day of the regular season on the Mactaquac Headpond that was worth over $1,850 in cash and prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanks to Abu Garcia and MTB Brokerage the prize package in 2022 was even better. The winners received cash & prizes worth over $2,600. Add it the money won for the Lunker at the spring Nackawic tournament, the total prize value was worth nearly $3,000. The father & son team of Donnie & John MacLeod caught a 5.10 monster smallmouth that was worth almost $600 a pound!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2023 prize package is only getting better! Abu Garcia has stepped up again and put together an unbelievable prize package for the Lunker of the Year winners that worth about $2,500. Add in the $1,000 cash prize, plus the tournament lunker prize and the largest fish for the season could be worth around $4,000. That amount rivals what the Team of the Year and the Classic Champions receive for their respective wins. Not bad for one fish!
