William James “Jimmy” Munn

1954 - 2020

Jimmy was passionate about two things; his family and fishing. Rain or shine, if the boat was heading to the lake, he was there. He was a friend to many and willing to help anyone in need both on and off the water. For many years he spent his weekends as the NBSFA weighmaster, directing boats, anglers and calling the weights, along with his brother Willie.

Many years ago, during one tournament a team was having difficulty getting the engine running due to a broken starter bolt. When passing by Jimmy noticed the team having troubles. Of course, without hesitation he stops. Standing on the bow of his boat using a pair of pliers to help hold the starter in-place he gets the team up and running. Just another day for Jimmy! An act that team has never forgotten. Jimmy knew his way around boats and engines and was employed for several years at Phil’s Auto and Recreation.
