Francis Arthur O’Neill

1937 - 2009

Francis spent over 40 years operating Sardine Carriers and Seiners for Conner’s Bros., as captain of the Eastern Phoenix and the Canada 100.  Besides fishing for a living, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed bass and salmon fishing.  After working a long night fishing, he would head to the Lake Utopia cottage and spend many more hours catching bass and salmon.

Francis fished many seasons with the New Brunswick Sportfishing Association.  When he caught a bass in a tournament, his favourite saying was “Chummy this one will put us in the movies”, and it didn’t matter if it was 12 inches or 20.   It was always the same!  He was a friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
