It’s not often, it seems, that the teams are met with clear skies, warm weather and lighter winds, but that was the case at the 2022 NBSFA Woodstock event. In the week between the end of the pre fish and the start of the event, the water in the Woodstock area dropped and cleared up which meant the teams might have to change their plan before take off. The morning saw a light cloud covering and cooler temps but as midday came, the clouds cleared, the sun came out and the temps rose as the teams raced around looking to upgrade their catches. The fish seemed to be active and plentiful but, what is often the case in Woodstock, the bigger 3+ pound fish were tough to find.
At the end of the day, the team of Crawford and Crawford not only stood atop the podium but they also claimed the lunker with a 4.25 pound smasher. Beek & Beek came is with a big bag and secured second place and for the second event in a row, Ross & Ross rounded out the top 3.
The next event is the Dennis Wilson Memorial tournament to be held out of Carleton Park in Fredericton.
