Bear and Paul Carve Narrow Victory in Perth-Andover

Aug 15, 2022

Cool overnight temps of just 10 degrees meant the anglers were met with a wall of fog Saturday morning. The northern NB area had seen a number of rain storms come through the region leading up to the event which meant high, dirty water with current in the range of 3 to 5 mph. After a fog delay, the teams raced to their starting areas to embark on the 2022 version of the NBSFA Perth event.

Throughout the day, the teams battled the high water and fast current to try and chase down the giant smallmouth bass they have come accustomed to from the Perth Andover area. In the end, the team of Bear/Paul stood alone atop the leaderboard by the slimmest of margins. A total weight of 18.05lbs was enough to secure the victory over the team of Greene/Barrett who chased down 18.00lbs. Hooper/Hooper rounded out the top 3 with a weight of 17.55 lbs.

The biggest fish of the day was caught by the team of Shiels/Shiels with a 4.45 lbs bruiser.

The teams have 3 weeks now to prepare for the final regular season event in Woodstock where the Team of the Year and the Smallmouth Cup will be decided!
